Winter Solstice 2019

December 21, 2019 is the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere; the day with the least amount of sunlight. Here in Michigan, we only have 8.5-9 hours of sunlight today. Winter Solstice is a time for celebrating the return to light. It is also a time for deep reflection on the darkness. Honoring the darkness is essential for a holistic approach to life. Although I tend towards optimism and choosing to focus on the positives in life, the truth is we cannot have light without darkness. I encourage all of us to welcome the darkness in the same way that we welcome the light. The darkness and the light co-exist in perfect harmony. The more fully we awaken to our true, perfectly imperfect beingness, the more light we will find in our lives.
