I have wanted to take a Thomas Myers’ Anatomy Trains workshop for ten plus years. Finally, a talented teacher, Lauri Nemetz, is visiting Ann Arbor to offer a workshop for movement therapists at Gyrotonic Tree Town & Pilates Loft Studio. Here is a little blurb from the course description: “Traditional anatomy is static, but humans are constantly in dynamic movement—Anatomy Trains shows you 'the ropes' for transmission from muscle to muscle through the fascial fabric. The Anatomy Trains concept moves beyond mechanical "cause and affect" actions of muscles to the integrative relational connections of real-life functional movement.” I will be filling my mind and body with these concepts on October 3rd and 4th and hope to integrate and transfer this information to my clients. The facial anatomy is a relatively new area of study and anatomists are discovering a strong correlation with the meridian system of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which evolved thousands of years ago. I look forward to assimilating these concepts into my practice. I couldn’t be more excited to take this workshop!
