New Apprenticeship Series: Fall 2017

Accepting New Students!

This fall I am offering a new six month apprenticeship series in Thai massage and Shiatsu. Read on to learn more....

Apprenticeship Description:

You are invited to expand your understanding of Thai massage and Shiatsu with the ongoing guidance of an experienced practitioner. Semi-private (2-4 students) apprenticeships in Thai massage and Shiatsu are being offered to the serious student who wants to delve into the subtleties of these practices. Although some experience giving bodywork is helpful, beginners are welcome. We will explore “doing” less and “being” more present with our body weight and intention. Within this broader context of Being, sessions can be tailored specifically to your goals/needs. In addition to presenting theory and technique, we will focus on creating or polishing flowing sequences, working within physical limitations (e.g. injury), and concentrate on tailored themes. Each class will include supportive practices for the body and mind, such as meditation, self care, and exploring how to listen and respond.

Why This May Be For You:

You want deepen your practice and understanding of touch.

You want to feel confident in giving bodywork to others.

You want the ongoing support of an experienced practitioner.

You want to expand your repertoire of bodywork techniques/modalities.

You are overworking and are looking for a new approach.

You want to find ways to give bodywork within physical limitations or injury.

When:

Class will be held one Sunday a month from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on the following dates:

October 1

November 12

December 10

January 7

February 11

Commitment:

Apprenticeships require a six month minimum commitment. This provides students with an in depth personalized learning environment in order to profoundly embody this healing art form. We will meet once a month for three hours. The cost for each three hour session is $120 and is due at the end of each class by cash or check.

Deposit and Registration:

The first step is to contact me to discuss your practice and goals. Next, you will need to schedule a time to receive a bodywork session so that you have a personal understanding of what I have to offer and together we can discuss whether this is congruous with your practice and goals. To ensure your place in class, a deposit of $60 is required along with returning a signed copy of the Student/Teacher Agreement. The deposit is non-refundable but will be counted as part of tuition.
